ABSTRACT

Education in any type, traditional or perhaps modern, styles the success of culture. Today, education is considered the essential soft-ware intended for development. But also for it to play this part effectively there has to be a battalion of competent teachers with the passion to see the learners fully grasp the contents offered and a curriculum which can be convenient to the learners. Education is imparted to learners so as to bring them out of the darker cave of ignorance towards the bright side of liberation. It really is from this reason that the student is used through education so as to improve his very own development. Someone is considered to be well-informed if this individual has put in a number of years at school and offers, as a result, attained a qualification or a diploma or degree upon effective completion of the 8: 5: 4 systemq. Among the features that an educated person has among different include an enquiring head and the ability to learn from what others carry out. A famous philosopher once said: " Those who have browse of everything happen to be tough to appreciate everything as well; but it is not always so--reading furnishes your brain only with materials of knowledge; it is convinced that makes precisely what is read mine. We are of the ruminating kind, and it is insufficient to stuff ourselves which has a great weight of choices; unless we all chew all of them over again, they will not give us strength and nutrients. Looking at the 8: some: 4 system of education in Kenya, it truly is characterized by a diverse curriculum that mostly is never understood by recipients. This method has stressed on the intellectual dimension of education which will simply specify education because schooling. The learners in most cases end up pilling information within their minds and presenting the same information during examination time. Kenya's overall economy is currently promoting for marks for one to match any kind of work thus it usually will not matter the standard of the qualification. This has created a scenario which in turn puts the learners on the notion that despite the wide-ranging curriculum, what matters most is whether speculate if this trade papers. This kind of study is going to critically look at Freire's financial concept besides looking at the nature of learning in primary college as discussed in the almost 8: 4: 5 system. The analysis will also measure the applicability of Freire's financial concept for the 8: 5: 4 program. The study will also be useful in providing information in the academic field as it can point out to students one of the major problems affecting the country's creation. The frustrations faced in the efforts put while going through the 8: 4: 5 system necessitated this study. This daily news will try to determine to what magnitude the associationism theory of John Locke will be suitable in studying how Kenyan education provides contributed to not enough creativity in the country. Based on this kind of theory, it truly is hoped that solutions will be suggested. Really my location that we resume the drawing plank (in this case, classroom) to re-design our curriculum. There is certainly dire need for broad-based and integrated program as opposed to the present narrow targeted, theoretical and examination-oriented program in Kenya.
